PROGRAMMER ANALYST, INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY

The Programmer Analyst will be responsible for development and maintenance of applications, systems integration, automation, database development and managing user expectations, this role has an impact on internal daily operations, data management and reporting.  Primary responsibilities include:

  • Develop, enhance and maintain all custom applications, data interfaces, and reports built on the Microsoft framework/platform;

  • Code, test, document and deliver requested functionality changes or enhancements;

  • Diagnose, isolate and debug software problems and resolve any issues;

  • Provide functional support for applications as needed;

  • Ensure that systems are developed which meet business requirements and for functionality, quality, stability and sustainability;

  • Assist in influencing decisions regarding technology/framework selection and development activities; serve as a subject matter expert for the determination and recommendation of problem resolution and system enhancements

  • Resolve systemic issues and ensure completion of root cause analysis;

  • Responsible for clearly and concisely articulating technical issues and resolutions with varied business stakeholders;

  • Create detailed documentation and procedures for new/existing applications, including installation, operations and user guides.

  • Ensure proper backup and disaster recovery protocols are in place and followed;

  • Create and formalize the company’s software development life cycle/methodology, architectural design and development framework, and in-house coding standards by leveraging industry best practices.

  • Perform tasks within a complex decision-making and problem-solving environment.

Performance Expectations

  • Gain knowledge and understanding of internal business systems (in-house built and third party) and what business processes they support;

  • Design, develop and maintain features and integration between various internal applications;

  • Analyze, design, and support a wide array of key business processes;

  • Contribute to the development of new ideas and approaches to improve work processes;

  • Design databases for both new and existing projects;

  • Facilitate discussions with business stakeholders and translate into requirements and feature requests;

  • Ability to resolve conflict and conflicting stakeholder interests;

  • Experience working closely with the business to arrive at an optimal solution in terms of functionality, timelines and implementation;

  • Ability to communicate effectively with business and IT support teams;

  • Robust technical analysis skills, verbal/written communications skills, interpersonal skills, facilitation skills, and client relationship skills are requirements for this position;

  • Effectively manages multiple assignments, adapts to changing priorities and can work independently or as part of a team;

  • Willingness to accept responsibility for delivering solutions to complex issues;

  • Assist broader support team in problem analysis and issue resolution;

  • Comfortable working in a high performing, team-oriented, dynamic and evolving IT team environment.

Credentials

  • A Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent

  • 3+ years of experience in C#, .Net framework;

  • Web application development and troubleshooting;

  • SQL – normalization, query writing, tuning/optimization of queries/stored procedures

  • Experience building rich “AJAX” internet applications with JavaScript;

  • Experience with WinForms/WPF, PowerShell, vba/vb.net, MSSQL, Git, SSRS, CRM 2011

  • Experience with any of the following is an asset: Catel WPF framework, NLog, React, ServiceStack, NPOI/EPPlus, Entity Framework, Linq2Sql, IBM MQ

Compensation

Compensation will be a guaranteed salary and benefits. After a probationary period, this person will participate in a discretionary performance-based bonus program.

ASAP

Hours

  • Generally, 8:30am to 5:30pm (negotiable); Monday to Friday (except market holidays).

  • Participation in a 24 X 7 on-call support rotation.

  • Evenings and weekends to meet project and work deadlines.
