The Upper Technician at Mr. Lube has complete ownership of the customer experience. Not only do you work directly on a customers car, but you also are in control of the entire sales cycle; from walking a customer through the services on a car to completing the sale. Reporting to the Supervisor, the Upper Technician responsibilities include the following: Customer Service duties:
  • Greeting customers
  • Provide prompt, efficient, and courteous service to customers Discussing products and services with customers
  • Providing recommendations based on vehicle assessments
  • Suggesting new products and services
  • Working with a close knit team and communicating with Lower Technicians
  • Treat each individual customer as if you were their personal automotive service technician
  • Offer all required and recommended services/products that can help customers solve their problems and make their lives a little easier
Mechanical duties:
  • Oil and filter changes
  • Replacement of vital car fluids (e.g. coolant, transmission, and transfer case fluid)
  • Replacement of parts under the hood (e.g. air filters, headlights, taillights and wiper blade replacements)
  • Refill performance enhancers to ensure the car runs smoothly (e.g. engine stop leak, oil treatment, and valve cleaner)
  • Perform courtesy checks on all vehicles (e.g. topping up fluid levels, cleaning windows and checking tire pressure)
Store Level duties:
  • Support and enforce all in-store Health, Safety and Environmental Policies
  • Conform to Human Resource and Operational policies and procedures
  • Provide for in-store security, general maintenance and shop-keeping duties
  • Receive and warehouse stock orders
  • Ensure all inventory is effectively displayed, rotated and replaced
  • Perform in any capacity or undertake any job as delegated by superiors, within the line of duty
  • Maximize personal productivity in order for store to achieve objectives
  • Utilize and distribute time effectively in an effort to maximize personal contributions
  • Increase technical and conceptual understandings of the business
  • Maximize sales opportunities over the long term of the store(s) and Mr. Lube
