We are seeking an experienced Mental Health Leader for an exciting, busy, and rewarding Team Leader position in Nelson, BC! We are seeking a Team Leader to provide clinical leadership and day-to-day operational management to Mental Health Clinicians in Nelson (including McKim Cottage), New Denver, Salmo and Nakusp.
The Team Leader will be part of a dedicated team of professionals and have the opportunity to flourish under the mentorship of accomplished leaders, managers, educators and internationally-recognized health experts. This position consists of providing line leadership, supervision, clinical support, service delivery level problem solving to three multidisciplinary Mental Health & Substance Use teams. A total of 24 clinicians, nurse and life skills workers report to this position, which includes Adult Short Term Assessment and Treatment (ASTAT) Therapists, Adult Community Support Services staff (i.e. case managers, nurses) and Outreach workers.
As the Team Leader you work to deliver high quality, client focused programs across the continuum of community services and provides liaison to local agencies and other service providers. In collaboration with the Program Manager, the Team Leader is also responsible for the planning, implementation, coordination, and evaluation of clinical practice to ensure quality client care outcomes. This position will also delivery direct client care as required.
We are seeking a leader with previous supervisory experience in Mental Health and Substance Use and working in Mental Health with vulnerable populations: especially understanding severe and persistent mental illness, substance use, application of the Mental Health Act in clinical situations.

- A Master’s Degree (from an accredited educational institution) in a social or behavioral science field relevant to the position.
- Four years recent related experience including experience in individual, family and group modalities of practice in the clinical specialty of the assigned area.
- One year recent experience in a leadership capacity, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Current valid BC driver’s license.
**Knowledge of Community Care and Assisted Living Act will be an asset.
