Our friendly, full service dog salon provides exceptional grooming to all breeds using only premium, organic pet products. Position Purpose: The Store Assistant/Bather position is an excellent entry-level role for someone who is interested in learning about dog products while delivering exceptional customer service. This role also involves bathing and preparing dogs prior to the Groomer performing services. As such, training is provided and the career path of this role may lead to full grooming responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities: Working in a fast-paced, positive environment duties will include: greeting clients and providing excellent product advice as well as accurate price/time estimates for services, assisting with displays and merchandise, maintaining detailed computer booking data and processing sales transactions, salon opening and closing, inspecting dogs for any health concerns, performing brush outs, de-matting and de-shedding as well as bathing using the Hydro-Surge system.
Qualifications/Attributes: Applicants will have a High School Diploma, excellent customer service skills, and a proactive work ethic. Candidates should have an interest in dogs and products designed for them with excellent time management abilities, as well as confidence with dogs and an enthusiastic, patient approach to dealing with them. This position is physically demanding and the employee must be able to lift 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, bend and reach repeatedly. Applicants must have strong oral and written English communication skills and the ability to work both independently and in a team. The ideal candidate will have the ability to perform under pressure and thrive in a fast-paced, stressful but supportive environment. Previous experience in a pet or dog environment is considered an asset but Shaggy to Chic will train the right person for this position.
