The Nuclear Medicine Technologist performs diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine procedures in accordance with departmental policies. Duties include preparing patients for examination, operating nuclear medicine equipment, monitoring patient during procedures, preparing, dispensing and administering radiopharmaceuticals, performing routine quality control tests on imaging equipment, monitoring area utilizing appropriate detection devices and disposing of radioactive substances and contaminated items by following established guidelines. All of our sites are connected through our regional Picture Archive and Communication System (PACS) integrated into our single Electronic Health Record providing real-time patient histories anywhere within Interior Health. We have clinical advisory groups that are working together to ensure best practice throughout Interior Health.
This is a relief part time opportunity until the return of the incumbent (approximately May 2018). The FTE for this position is 0.73 (54.75 hours bi-weekly). Shifts are days with varying start and stop times, Monday to Friday.

- Successful completion of a Nuclear Medicine Technology program recognized by the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT).
- Current certification with CAMRT and eligible for membership with CAMRT and/or the BC Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (BCAMRT).
