Journeyman Parts/Materials/Mechanical Technician

Job Purpose:

Industrial Opportunity within a manufacturing environment.  We are looking for a parts person.  The Parts/Material Technician will be responsible for stock handling, identifying and cataloguing parts and assemblies as well as ordering, receiving, inspecting and sorting.

Key Responsibilities:

As part of the Maintenance team you will be responsible for the following:

  • Meter readings and documentation
  • Control and distribution of all maintenance materials, spare parts and stock items
  • Quality Assurance on all replenished inventory 
  • Maintain organization and cleanliness of Stores room
  • Organize parts location
  • Receiving of parts and placing into Stores room
  • Technical support lists documented & recorded
  • Equipment tracking (placement of parts in proper storage locations)
  • Physical Inventory control & count cycles
  • Labeling of bins and parts
  • Administrative duties as assigned
  • Support Maintenance Supervisor
  • Comply with Health & Safety regulations /GMP’s
  • All related work within the Maintenance department

 

 

Job Requirements:

Critical to Quality Elements:

  • Flexible work schedule must be able to work Tuesday through Saturday
  • Alberta certified Journeyman Parts/Material Technician
  • Proven experience in a Manufacturing facility
  • Ability to demonstrate behaviour consistent with the Values of the Company
  • Ability to interact with personnel at all organizational levels
  • Demonstrate success at working in a mutually supportive team environment
  • Working knowledge of a computerized work order system and PM programs, MS Office along with strong PC skills is an asset – experience with Maximo is considered an asset
  • The ability to prioritize in a continuously changing environment
  • Demonstrate the willingness to change with the needs of the business, ability to work varied shifts including weekends
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with proficient attention to detail
  • Self starting proactive individual, who takes initiative, works well independently or under supervision
  • Able to lift 50+ pounds
  • Working language is English

 

  Preferred Hiring Criteria

Alberta certified Red Seal Journeyman OR Apprentice Parts Technician - minimum 5 years experience in parts business
Experience working in fast paced results oriented manufacturing environment
Ability to work shifts based on a 24 hour/7 day a week operation
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Excellent problem solving skills
Self-directed and a motivated team player
