About the Role
carya is searching
for a Database Administrator and Analyst
who will report to the Director, Impact and Evaluation and work interdepartmentally and interact
directly with all database users and managers. The Database Administrator and Analyst
is an advocate for the Penelope CRM and helps to appropriately expand its use
and its ability to inform organizational decision-making. The Data Analyst also
work across the organization to support improved evaluation processes and
leverage data to clearly articulate the impact of carya programming and activities to a variety of audiences. Key

What You’ll Do
- Maintaining the integrity of data collected and stored
- Creating efficiencies in the way data is collected, managed, and interpreted within the organization
- Training staff on data and evaluation related software and processes
- Using your programming and data analysis skills
- Being the point person with software providers and external contractors related to the database
- Addressing queries delivered to the data/evaluation helpdesk email inbox
- Extracting, migrating, merging, and cleaning data from carya databases
- Enhancing reporting capabilities and capacity across the organization
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or other equivalent qualifications
- Completion of at least an undergraduate quantitative research methods course that used SPSS or equivalent
- Demonstrated experience in information systems and database management and practical experience in data analysis
- At least one year’s experience in managing data and evaluation processes, preferably in the not-for-profit sector
- Experience using CRM software, business intelligence software, and data management software
- Demonstrated respect for confidentiality and strong sense of professional ethics

The Database Administrator and Analyst will receive a comprehensive total compensation package including:
- Annual salary of $54,421 to $60,563
- Employer paid premiums for extended health benefits and 50/50 share of dental premiums
- Up to 7% RRSP matching
- Annual Health Spending Account
- Three (3) weeks paid vacation pro-rated to start date and eligible for use in the first year of employment
- Monthly Personal Time Off (PTO) day
- Paid office closure days between Christmas and New Year
- Discretionary Day of Observation each year for use on a day that is of personal significance
- Access to bereavement leave
- Agency provided property as needed by the role
